Dog/ Puppy Adoption General Information
As a not-for-profit shelter, Circle Tail does not receive funds from any state or federal government agencies. The adoption fee that you pay is used to care for all of the animals housed and cared for by Circle Tail Inc., including the training of both shelter and assistance dogs.
The dog/ puppy that you adopt will have received age appropriate vaccines, spayed/neutered, and tested for heartworm (if over 6 months). All puppies, as well as some adults, might require further vaccinations, fecal exams and possibly worming medications. Some of our animals were brought to us with their medical records. If we have received such records, they will be given to you.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ALL ADOPTED DOGS BE KEPT ON HEARTWORM PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE.
We cannot guarantee, nor can we be responsible for, the health of the pets being adopted. Many of the pets admitted to our shelter have come from unknown origins. Whilst all have been checked by a veterinarian, and every effort has been made to ensure the basic health of our animals, some might be incubating certain diseases which are not readily apparent at the time of adoption.
Within 1 week of adoption, a dog/ puppy may be returned to Circle Tail for any reason. On receipt of all adoption/medical records, a full refund will be given. Within two weeks of adoption, the dog/ puppy may be returned to Circle Tail for health or temperament reasons. On the return of the dog/ puppy to Circle Tail, along with proof of adoption and all medical records, another dog/ puppy may be selected within six months, that selection (as with all adoptions) being at the discretion of Circle Tail. No monetary refunds can be given in such cases.
Under no circumstances should Circle Tail dog/ puppy be sold, traded, or disposed of in any way. If you cannot continue to care for the dog/ puppy, please call Circle Tail to discuss rehoming options.
